The Peterborough Singers are delighted to present a benefit concert on June 13, 2022 where 100 percent of proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to three local charities. This will be an extra special concert: Vivaldi’s Gloria and the Fauré Requiem. These two beloved pieces will help bring back the joy and beauty we’ve missed for so many months during the pandemic.

Gloria, by Vivaldi, has been described as wonderfully sunny, while Fauré’s Requiem is known for conveying calm, peace, and serenity. A perfect combination for a hoped for end to the pandemic and the beginning of warm months ahead.

All proceeds from this concert will be donated to the Brock Mission, the YES Shelter for Youth and Families, and Kawartha Food Share as a way of  expressing our gratitude to the Peterborough community for the support we’ve received from our loyal audience. A big thank you is in order to Emmanuel United Church for providing the venue at no charge, as well as OLDIES 96.7 FM and PTBOTODAY.ca for concert promotion.

On this occasion the choir will be conducted by Christine Slevan, with Peterborough Singers’ Artistic Director Syd Birrell at the organ, soprano Shannon McCracken, and bass Jonathan Leibich. Join us in music and in giving back to our community.
