ABOUT ME
MY STORY
Shannon McCracken is an actor, singer and voice over artist. She has performed across Canada, and is equally at home in plays and musicals, film and television, and on the concert stage.
Recent engagements include guest soloist for the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra and Historic St. Paul’s choir at Centre in the Square, with the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra and Singers for Haydn’s The Creation (upcoming, singing the role of Eve), and with New Stages theatre company in Sondheim: A Celebration.
From cabarets to concertizing, Shannon’s voice has taken her across Canada, singing in shows at The Banff Centre, the Women of Musical Theatre Festival in Toronto, and with New Stages theatre, the Northumberland Orchestra, the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony orchestra, MCC Toronto, and with the Grand River Chorus. Her oratorio work includes Handel’s Messiah with the Peterborough Singers, the Grand River Chorus and Wilfrid Laurier University’s chamber choir and orchestra, Vivaldi’s Gloria with Choral Connection, and Bach’s Magnificat in D Major with the Northumberland Orchestra and Choir. And whether she’s singing with a full band, an orchestra, or alongside some of the greats including Colm WIlkinson, Shannon can move with ease through genres, transitioning from a pop song to a musical theatre number, or sinking in to an operatic aria.
As an actor and voice over artist, Shannon has worked with major companies including Rogers and CityTV, and you can catch her on screen meditating with Keanu Reeves in the new Rogers Xfinity campaign that launched at the 2025 Super Bowl. Favourite credits of Shannon’s include Esme in the world premiere of Buying the Farm at the Port Stanley Festival Theatre, Galinda in Wicked (CMTP/Toronto Fringe), Amalia in She Loves Me (CMTP), Raising the Barn and Living History with Globus Theatre, Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro (Opera Laurier), Eileen in Wonderful Town, and Oklahoma! and The Sound of Music (Port Hope Festival Theatre).
Shannon runs a private voice studio in Peterborough, Ontario, where she works with singers of all levels in a wide variety of genres. With her Members Only Online Studio and Shop, she has been able to work with singers around the world from Paris to Newfoundland. Shannon facilitates workshops and masterclasses for groups and schools, and most recently, served as the Vocal and Music Director for Thomas A. Secondary School’s production of School of Rock. She has worked as a Kiwanis Music Festival adjudicator, created and led Theatre Art Training Academy’s Summer Intensive program, and loves to guest instruct at music and drama camps and programs.
Shannon is a proud member of CAEA and ACTRA, holds an Honours BMus in Voice Performance from Wilfrid Laurier University, and is an alumnus of the Banff Centre’s Musical Theatre Professional Intensive, the Victoria Conservatory of Music’s Advanced Singers Program, and the Theatre 20 Conservatory. When she’s not on stage, set or in the booth, she’s either teaching from her home studio, playing make believe with her toddler, or giving her dog a good scratch behind the ears.
